You guys know how hard I am trying to work on my golf game. I have given up O Magazine in favor of Golf Digest because now my goal is to learn how to drive a golf ball far but this is not going to be easy.
In short, we slice, we hook, we top, and sometimes miss altogether. This will cause a wide rotation of the clubface and you’ll have to compensate in your downswing. Well there are a few things to consider. It is easy to stand behind a golf ball and line it up, but to stand over the ball and do it is another matter. The facts are the facts and if you are not consistently and yes that would be “consistently” driving the ball straight down the fairway then you need to first correct your stance.
Everyone can benefit from having the correct guidance to perfect your game no matter what facet of the game it is. If you’re tense when hitting a serve, you don’t get the snap of the wrist (which generates a lot of power) or the smooth follow through.
Don’t let your swing problems stop you from having a good time out on the golf course. Players have a hard time making changes to how they stand or their back swing or how hard they come down through the ball because they have built up all these techniques throughout the years. When setting up to drive the ball it is important that you lengthen your swing. Focus on quality rather than quantity during your practice sessions. If it does then your angle is too steep – which is what may be causing your slice. On the other hand, a flat golf swing that results in your handle aiming beyond the ball leads to a hook. Also, there are usually corresponding problems, like pop-ups and over correction. Sure, you putt for dough but lets not leave the ego out of the equation. If it did, then you’re cupping your wrist at the top of the backswing. The same is true if the wind is going with you. Although there is a problem that often arises with this quest. Instead of your normal sideways spin, you’ll create over spin which will give you that bounding action down the fairway. Let me give you a great tip. You do not want your swing arc to be in too close to your body with your arms bent and tight.
There are just so many things to think about dammit. Peace Out my bitches ;0
